Kansas Goes Full Birther: Considers Removing Obama From Ballot

A Republican majority board in Kansas is trying to decide whether to remove President Obama from the state ballot over objections about his birth certificate.

“I don’t think it’s a frivolous objection,” Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach told the Topeka Capital-Journal. “I do think the factual record could be supplemented.”

Kobach is also an informal adviser to Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Kansas is the state Mr. Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was born in as well as his grandparents who helped raid him.

Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961, the son of a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas. Though Mr. Obama has legally provided his birth certificate, under pressure from extreme Conservatives, he has even released his long form.

Still, A USA Today/ Gallup survey shows that 25 percent of adult Americans continue to believe Mr. Obama was born somewhere outside the United States. PoliticalGroove.com 9/09/2012
